The Robinson family has been deep-rooted in Gainesville for four generations and for the past 40 years, G.W. Robinson Builders, Inc. has built homes and entire communities throughout Alachua County. Now, the family is launching a new venture and developing into home remodeling under the name G.W. Robinson Remodeling, LLC.

Randy Robinson and his son Jay Robinson are launching the new remodeling company. Randy’s father G.W. Robinson and mother Kate started their building company in 1967. Their company grew from building four to eight homes per year to more than 100 homes per year.

Throughout the years, Randy says he enjoyed the working relationship he had with his father, as he learned the business literally from the ground up. He worked as a carpenter, foreman, superintendent, construction manager and director of development.

“I’m proud to be a part of a team that puts character first,” says Randy. “My dad always put God and character first in his business.”

Randy says now he is looking forward to building that working relationship with his son Jay, who spent five years serving in the Marine Corps, followed by service as a commissioned officer (first lieutenant) in the Army National Guard. He served in both Afghanistan and Iraq and performed guard duty at U.S. Embassies in South Africa and Kuwait.

 Jay graduated from Santa Fe Community College and the University of Florida, while working for G.W. Robinson Builders. Jay also built two of his personal homes, including his current residence in Garison Way, a G.W. Robinson development. Jay enjoyed working with homeowners in the Turnberry Lake development, where he was a construction superintendent.  Jay says he enjoys the creative aspects of remodeling. “I enjoy working on the front end of the job, with the design or redesign,” he explains. “I like the imagination you can put into a remodel.”

G.W. Robinson Remodeling specializes in kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling, room additions and most other types of home improvements. The Robinsons pride themselves upon communicating with their customers throughout the remodeling process, as well as providing outstanding service and building relationships.

“G.W. Robinson Remodeling promises its customers a fair and complete price for the entire scope of the project,” says Randy. “Our objective is to come up with a good design to fit the budget, so that we do the work right the first time. Our customers receive prompt personal service throughout the design and building process. Jay and I stay personally involved throughout the entire process to build a good relationship with our customers, so they can have a great experience during the remodeling process.”

Upon meeting both Randy and Jay Robinson at one of their remodeling jobsites, it was evident that the homeowner not only trusted G.W. Robinson Remodeling’s work, the homeowner also was inspired to change room after room of his west Gainesville residence because he also valued the beauty, quality and reliability of the work that G.W. Robinson Remodeling has provided.

The job began with a remodeling of the home’s back porch area, which also required a number of changes to the drainage. From there, G.W. Robinson Remodeling built a beautiful outdoor kitchen overlooking the pool area. The team then turned their attention to both the garage and inside of the home. G.W. Robinson Remodeling installed new garage doors, which were imported from Germany, that open and close in relative silence. In addition, the company built a mudroom attached to the garage, which separated the family’s living area, playroom and a theater room.

In the home’s basement, G.W. Robinson Remodeling continued the remodeling project by providing a more finished living area. The rooms were complete with built-in shelving, a closed storage area that was protected from moisture, a small bar entertainment area and a room with a large dehumidifier and moisture removal system that will eliminate any worry the homeowner might have about mold or moisture problems in the future.

Randy Robinson says what is most important to him is that customers know they are getting the best in service and value. “We treat all of our customers the same, regardless of the scope of work,”?says Randy. “We make every customer feel like they’re our only customer.”
