Buchholz High Fights Through Brutal First Half Schedule

The Buchholz High Bobcats ended the first half of the season with a 1-4 record. However, the ‘Cats have played a non-District schedule loaded with state title contenders. As the team begins its Class 5A-District 3 schedule, the Bobcats, under coach Jay Godwin, still have hopes of reaching the 2007 state playoffs.

The Bobcats’ two most recent losses came on the road at Lake Gibson, which was ranked third in Class 5A, and at home against Niceville, which was ranked seventh in Class 5A. The other two losses were at the hands of North Marion and a close loss to Eastside (22-15) in the season opener.

The ‘Cats’ offense has been led by senior WR Henry Hill, who had 101 yards receiving in the season opener and enjoyed an 86-yard game against North Marion. QB Kevin Prindle also connected with senior WR Jameil McCleod for three TDs and more than 100 yards in the team’s loss to Niceville.
